Refund Policy

1. Overview & Digital Content Acknowledgment
TopikIQ is a digital content service that provides immediate access to AI-powered educational features upon purchase. By subscribing to or purchasing any paid plan, you expressly acknowledge and agree that: (a) the Service constitutes digital content that is delivered immediately upon purchase; (b) you consent to immediate access and performance of the Service; and (c) you acknowledge the loss of any statutory right of withdrawal that may otherwise apply once digital content delivery has begun.
This Refund Policy is governed by and subject to the applicable terms of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, which process all payments on behalf of TopikIQ.
2. Free Trial
TopikIQ Pro includes a complimentary 7-day free trial for eligible new users. The trial provides full access to all Pro features at no cost. You may cancel the trial at any time before the trial period expires without being charged. If you do not cancel prior to the expiration of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and the applicable subscription fee will be charged to your payment method on file.
Important: The free trial is offered specifically so that users may fully evaluate the Service before committing to a paid plan. By allowing the trial to convert to a paid subscription, you confirm that you have had adequate opportunity to assess the Service and that you are satisfied with its functionality. Accordingly, the availability of the free trial is a key factor in our refund policy determinations.
3. Subscription Refunds (Monthly & Annual Plans)
All subscription purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. TopikIQ does not directly process payments and therefore cannot issue refunds directly. All refund requests must be submitted to the respective platform:
Apple App Store: Submit a refund request at reportaproblem.apple.com. Refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies.
Google Play Store: Submit a refund request through the Google Play Store's refund process. Google Play policies provide a 48-hour window for automatic refunds on first-time purchases of subscriptions; after this window, refund eligibility is determined by Google.
3.1 Conditions Under Which Refunds Are Generally Not Granted
While the respective app stores make final refund decisions, TopikIQ reserves the right to contest or provide information regarding refund requests in the following circumstances:
(a) Substantial Use: The user has accessed or consumed a material portion of the Service during the billing period, including but not limited to: completing quizzes, engaging with the AI tutor, accessing vocabulary modules, using speaking practice features, or downloading offline content. Any meaningful engagement with paid features during the billing period constitutes substantial use.
(b) Late Cancellation: The user failed to cancel prior to the auto-renewal date. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Users are solely responsible for managing their subscription status through their device settings.
(c) Change of Mind: The user simply changed their mind about the Service after the subscription period has begun, particularly where a free trial was previously utilized.
(d) Dissatisfaction with Results: The Service is an educational tool that aids in exam preparation. Individual learning outcomes, including TOPIK exam results, depend on numerous factors outside our control, including study effort, prior knowledge, and exam difficulty. Dissatisfaction with exam results does not constitute grounds for a refund.
(e) Redundant Purchase: The user purchased a subscription while an existing subscription was active, or purchased a plan that overlaps with previously available features.
(f) Repeated Refund Requests: Users who have previously received one or more refunds and subsequently re-subscribe are not eligible for additional refunds absent a verifiable technical defect.
3.2 No Partial or Pro-Rated Refunds
Under no circumstances will partial or pro-rated refunds be issued for any unused portion of a subscription period. Once a billing cycle has begun, the full fee for that cycle is due and non-refundable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the user retains access to paid features until that date.
4. Lifetime Purchase
Lifetime access purchases represent a one-time, non-recurring payment granting perpetual access to Pro features for the life of the Service.
4.1 Cooling-Off Period
Lifetime purchasers may request a refund within 72 hours of purchase, provided that the user has not substantially used the Service during that period. “Substantial use” is defined as completing more than 3 quiz sessions, initiating more than 5 AI tutor conversations, or downloading offline content exceeding 10 MB.
4.2 After Cooling-Off Period
After 72 hours from the date of purchase, lifetime purchases are final and non-refundable under all circumstances. The discounted pricing of the lifetime plan (compared to the cumulative cost of monthly or annual subscriptions) reflects the non-refundable nature of this purchase tier.
4.3 Required Documentation
Any refund request for a lifetime purchase must include: (a) the original purchase receipt or transaction ID; (b) the email address associated with the TopikIQ account; (c) a detailed description of the reason for the refund request; and (d) confirmation that the request is made within the 72-hour cooling-off period. Incomplete requests will not be processed.
5. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription management settings. Cancellation must be performed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — cancellation cannot be processed through the TopikIQ app or by contacting TopikIQ support.
Cancellation Timing: To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Cancellations made after this deadline will take effect at the end of the next billing period, and you will be charged for that additional period.
Post-Cancellation Access: After cancellation, you will retain access to all Pro features until the expiration of your current paid period. Upon expiration, your account will revert to the Free tier, and you will retain access only to Free-tier features and any data associated with your account.
Data Retention: Your learning data, progress, and statistics will be preserved for 12 months following cancellation. After 12 months of inactivity, we reserve the right to delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Technical Issues
If you experience a verified technical defect that materially prevents you from accessing or using the core features of the Service (i.e., the app is completely non-functional), and the issue cannot be resolved through troubleshooting, you may be eligible for a refund or service credit at TopikIQ's sole discretion.
To submit a technical issue claim, you must: (a) report the issue to support@topikiq.com within 7 days of first encountering it; (b) provide device information (model, OS version, app version); (c) describe the issue in detail, including screenshots or screen recordings where possible; and (d) cooperate with our support team's troubleshooting efforts, including updating the app, clearing cache, or reinstalling if requested.
The following do not constitute refund-eligible technical issues: temporary server downtime (less than 24 consecutive hours), minor bugs that do not prevent core functionality, slow performance due to the user's device specifications or network conditions, incompatibility with unsupported OS versions or jailbroken/rooted devices, or features that are temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.
7. Abuse Prevention
TopikIQ reserves the right to deny, restrict, or revoke access to users who engage in refund abuse, including but not limited to: repeated subscribe-and-refund cycles, use of multiple accounts to exploit free trials, chargebacks or payment disputes filed in bad faith, or any other pattern of behavior designed to obtain paid features without payment.
Users identified as engaging in refund abuse may have their accounts permanently suspended and may be barred from creating new accounts. TopikIQ may report fraudulent refund activity to the relevant app store.
8. Regional Variations
Certain jurisdictions may provide consumer protection rights that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit or exclude any mandatory consumer rights under applicable local law. Where local law provides for a mandatory refund right that exceeds the terms described herein, the local law shall prevail to the extent required, but only to the minimum extent necessary to comply with such law.
9. Service Credits
In lieu of a monetary refund, TopikIQ may, at its sole discretion, offer service credits (e.g., extension of subscription period, temporary upgrade) as an alternative remedy. Acceptance of a service credit constitutes full and final resolution of the refund request.
10. Modifications to This Policy
TopikIQ reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email to registered users.
11. Contact & Dispute Resolution
For refund inquiries, contact us at support@topikiq.com. Please include your account email, transaction ID, and a detailed description of your request. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 5 business days.
Any disputes arising from this Refund Policy shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration body in the jurisdiction of TopikIQ's registered business address.
